Membership is open to individual members interested and working in forestry and related disciplines including local community organisations.

Achievements of Uganda Forestry Association

• Functional Secretariat established
• Increasing enrolment of members
• Herbalists linked to National Indigenous Knowledge initiatives
• Participated in forestry sector restructuring process
• Participated in FAO-National Forest Plan (NFP)/Uganda Forest Working Group information dissemination in selected districts.
• Developed stakeholders linkages, for instance with EU – Forest Resource Management and Conservation programme/FD/NFA a Corporate partnership and lately Sawlog Production Grant Scheme (SPGS)
• Participated in forestry related shows
• Publicity and awareness carried out on forest issues
• Qualitative interactions with School of Forestry, Environmental and Geographical Sciences (SFEGS)
• With FAO of UN, NaFORRI and recently International Network for Bamboo and Rattan trained members on bamboo.
• Promoted forest governance and professionalism of corporate members through training.
• Member REDD and Climate Change initiatives
• Participating in United Nations Forum on Forests Strategic Plan on Forests 2017 - 2030
